Establishing a positive working relationship with the media is an important component of your library’s marketing strategy and can greatly influence your image in the community. In this workshop, you will learn the ins and outs of working with your local media and using that relationship to your advantage. Get tips on how to make those connections, prepare for interviews, and craft newsworthy press releases. We will also discuss (and practice!) how to respond to the media and handle negative publicity after a crisis.

This program is sponsored by the Southeastern Wisconsin public library systems: Arrowhead Library System, Bridges Library System, Kenosha County Library System, Lakeshores Library System, Milwaukee County Federated Library System, and Monarch Library System.
