The Milton Library Foundation, a non-profit organization, was started thanks to a generous gift from Marion Allen, who loved Milton dearly. The Foundation safely invested her donation with the sole purpose being able to benefit the Milton Public Library throughout the years.
The Milton Public Library Foundation is overseen by a group of Milton citizens and donations to the library are made on a yearly basis. Donations are requested by the Library Director in line with the library’s mission and strategic plan. These donations allow the library to operate beyond city funding to a new level of excellence. Excellence was definitely achieved when the library won the Wisconsin Library Association’s Library of the Year in 2018. Recent projects supported by the Milton Public Library Foundation include the library’s remodel in 2017; staff and public computers and other technology for The SPARK, the library’s educational makerspace; Story Gardens, the library’s outdoor learning space; interior artwork; and more.
Foundation History
The Milton Public Library Foundation played a huge part in relocating the library from its Vernal Ave. location to its current location in 1986. Take a look at their fundraising brochure created to raise funds to furnish the library.
