Homeschool Resources
We are commited to supporting all who choose to homeschool in our community by providing resources, programming, and special collections.
Parent/Teacher Collection:
Our Parent/Teacher collection of books, videos, and kits curated specifically to support parents and teachers. We have even subscription to the magazine, Homeschooling Today so that you don’t have to!
Conveniently located on the second floor in our early-lit corner of the library, these books are in an area where you can browse while your children enjoy our children’s play space.
Children’s Reading Support & Resources:
In the early-lit section find our Curious Readers Kits full of books, games, and hands-on activities geared toward emerging readers. We even have kits specifically designed to help with dyslexia and dyscalculia.
You will also find our Emmy’s EarlyLit Kits. Designed specifically for our youngest readers, these kits encourage early literacy through fine motor development, counting, letter recognition and more.
We also have a growing collection of Wonderbooks and Playaway kits. These pair an audiobook with a book so that kids can practice reading while listening to the words spoken aloud.
Homeschool Resource Center:
Have you thought about which homeschool curriculum is right for you? Do you wish you could see them first-hand before making a decision? We’ve got you covered! We created a Homeschool Resource Center for families to take a look at various homeschool curriculum to see what might work best for you! Materials can only be viewed in-house. This is located on the first floor by the magazines.
Here are the curriculum we have for you to browse:
- Book Shark
- Moving Beyond the Page
- Oak Meadow
- Sonlight
- Timberdoodle
Homeschool-Specific Programming:
We have made an effort to include homeschooling families in the planning for our yearly programming. Recent homeschool programs have involved crafting and board games.
To read about all of our current programs, read our Program Guide under the Events & More Tab of the website.
Hands-On STEAM Learning:
Mini-Makers Kits are take-home kits based in science, music, art, math, or technology. Kits combine physical objects, such as musical instruments and science equipment, with traditional library resources such as books and educational DVDs. They each contain the materials and information necessary to learn a new skill or activity. There are nearly 30 to learn from!
We Want to Hear From You!
We want to know how we can help you with your homeschooling, if you have any suggestions for us, or if there is something we can do better! This form can be used to communicate with us.
