Cowboy Pride selected for Big Library Read digital ebook club at Rock County Libraries

Readers can borrow and read the eBook for free without waitlists and holds for two weeks

Milton, WI – June 22, 2018 – Inspired by Pride and Prejudice, author Lacy Williams has introduced a new dual love story with a Wild West twist. Cowboy Pride has been selected for the next Big Library Read.

Rock County public library users will be able to borrow the eBook format of the title with no wait lists or holds from July 9-23. Readers can take part in the two-week program by using the app or website for either the OverDrive or Libby digital library service. OverDrive offers eBooks, eAudiobooks, and streaming video via its OverDrive app or at wplc.overdrive.com. Libby offers eBooks and eAudiobooks through it’s Libby app or at libbyapp.com. Big Library Read is facilitated by OverDrive, the leading platform for eBooks and audiobooks from the library.

Williams is the USA Today bestselling author of the acclaimed Wyoming Legacy and Cowboy Fairytales series. Cowboy Pride, the third installment of Wyoming Legacy, is a love story where hearts and emotions get tangled, and first impressions count. It’s a contemporary romance that serves as an escape from reality for readers.

“Current technology allows us nearly unlimited access to information, including books. So many books,” Williams said. “I’m not sure at what age I first read Pride and Prejudice. My early teens, probably. I’ve read it numerous times through the years. My first fur-baby was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Mr. Bingley. So, from one (Jane) Austen lover to another, allow me to say, ‘You are too generous to trifle with me.’ Thank you for reading this book.”

Big Library Read is an international reading program that connects millions of readers around the world simultaneously with an eBook through the library. Readers can join an online discussion about the book at discuss.biglibraryread.com. The free program runs for two weeks (July 9-23, 2018) and to get started reading, all that’s needed is a library card from any of the seven Rock County public Libraries: Beloit Public, Clinton Public, Eager Free Public, Edgerton Public, Hedberg Public, Milton Public, or Orfordville Public. Cowboy Pride can be read on all major devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ phones and tablets, Chromebook™ and Kindle® [U.S. libraries only], without worry about wait lists or holds. The title will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, and there are no late fees.

“We’re encouraging patrons and staff to participate in OverDrive’s Big Library Read program this July. It’s such an easy and fun introduction to eBooks and book clubs there’s very little reason not to read the free book and discuss a few of the questions online [at discuss.biglibraryread.com],” said Steve Platteter, director of Arrowhead Library System.

Big Library Read is made possible through a partnership between Arrowhead Library System, OverDrive, and Lacy Williams Books LLC, the publisher of Cowboy Pride. Librarians and library readers voted Cowboy Pride as their choice for Big Library Read. To borrow the eBook, readers can use an app (OverDrive or Libby) or visit a website (wplc.overdrive.com or libbyapp.com).
